Peppermint
Discovered in 1753 by Sir Carl Linnaeus, peppermint is actually the sterile hybrid of watermint and spearmint. The naturally occurring oils of the peppermint plant contain a high level of menthol, which is known for its anti-inflammatory and cooling properties. In Europe and the U.S., there is a long tradition of use as a homeopathic remedy that continues to this day.
